Life Four Bangladesh distributes relief among baggers

Non-government organization Life Four Bangladesh distributed relief materials among as many as 22 baggers’ family in Dinajpur on Saturday as a nationwide lockdown is in force due to growing coronavirus outbreak disrupting daily life.

Life Four’s Coordinator Harun Biswas handed the over the food aids to these families, who live in makeshifts near a godown at Dinajpur railway station.

Harun said his organization has   stood beside the virus-affected people since the coronavirus broke out in the country.

They helped these 22 beggar families under their relief progamme and they would continue the operations for now, he added.

Since first reported in China in December last year, the novel coronavirus has so far infected 4,628,228 people globally, according to Worldometer.

The global death toll from coronavirus pandemic reached 308,642 as of Saturday morning.

The US is the hardest-hit with the highest number of infections and deaths -- more than 1,484,285 and 88,507 respectively. While UK has the second-highest death toll with 33,998, Spain has the second-highest cases -- 274,367

Besides, the death toll in Italy hits 31,610. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.T

he coronavirus of COVID-19 is affecting 212 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. Bangladesh has so far reported 20,065 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 298 deaths.

As many as 64 cases and three deaths were reported from the northern district of Dinajpur so far.
