Newly appointed secretary of the local government division (LGD) Muhammad Ibrahim Rahim paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Saturday.
After laying the wreath, the secretary stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation. Later, he offered doa seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975. The secretary also signed the visitors' book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Chief Engineer Sheikh Muhammad Mohsin, Dhaka Division Additional Chief Engineer Manmath Ranjan Halder, Faridpur Region Supervising Engineer Saiful Islam Sahid, Gopalganj Executive Engineer Md Ehsanul Haque, Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Al Mamun, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Upazila Awami League vice-president Elias Hossain, upazila engineer Faisal Ahmed and other officials of the LGED, among others, were present.
