Friday marked 28 years since the loss of Salman Shah, a beloved icon of Bangla cinema. Salman Shah (real name: Shahriar Chowdhury Emon) born on September 19, 1971, in Dariyapara, Sylhet, captivated audiences with his talent and charm.
Salman Shah, the eldest son of Kamruddin Chowdhury and Neela Chowdhury, began his acting career with television dramas. Notable works include 'Akash Chowa,' 'Sab Pakhi Ghore Phere,' and telefilm 'Swapner Prithivi.' He made his film debut in 1993 with "Keyamot Theke Keyamot."
Over a career spanning just three years, Salman Shah acted in 27 movies, often pairing with actress Shabnoor. His significant films include 'Swapner Prithivi,' 'Tomake Chai,' 'Jibon Songsar,' 'Ananda Ashru,' and 'Sujon Sokhi.' His performances set a new standard for romance in Bengali cinema.
Salman Shah was unique for his ability to appeal to both the middle-class and younger audiences, making all his films commercial successes. His acting, good looks, and distinctive style earned him a special place in the hearts of many fans.
In his personal life, Salman married Samira Haque on August 12, 1992, shortly before his film debut. Tragically, he passed away on September 6, 1996, at the age of 25.
