Legal notice served on NBR Chief over contempt of court

A legal notice has been sent to Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim, chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR), as he did not follow the order of the High Court. 

The notice stated that the High Court has directed to submit the account or statement of revenue collection from all types of transactions on Internet-based platforms including Google, Yahoo, Facebook, YouTube after every six months. The affidavit to that effect has not been filed so far after the judgment passed on November 8, 2020. It is requested to take steps to implement the court order within 10 days of receiving the notice.

The notice mentioned that if no positive response is received within the stipulated time, a petition will be filed on charge of contempt of court order.

With such a warning, this notice was sent to the registry post and email on Sunday.
