A public awareness campaign about legal aid was held at Joypurhat Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The campaign was organised by Joypurhat Sadar Upazila Legal Aid committee at a Madrasa in Puranapoil union. Puranapoil UP Chairman Khorshed Alam presided over the campaign while Joypurhat District Judge and Chaierman of Legal Aid Committee MA Rod Hawlader spoke as chief guest.
Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner (D C) Zakir Hossain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Salam Kabir and Zila Paeishad Chairman SM Solaiman Ali among others attended the event as special guests.
UP Chairman Khorshed Alam was appointed as the Chairman of the Union Legal Aid Committee. Chairman of the District Legal Aid Committee said all legal aid committee in Joypurhat will be activated so that it can be ensured that no victim is harassed.
