The leaves of officials and employees of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) have been cancelled ahead of the cyclone Fani o ensure proper coordination in case of a relief and rescue operation is necessitated.
The BWDB issued a press release in this regard. In the press release, it was said that The leaves of officials and employees of BWDB were cancelled in order to tackle disaster management for upcoming cyclone Fani. WDB Director General Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman has directed all employees to remain alert and carry out their duties with due diligence in the face of the threat of Fani. He asked the officials and employees to coordinate their efforts with those of local district administrations, disaster management offices and organizations dealing with relief and rescue. He has asked all employees of Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Feni, Laxmipur, Noakhali, Chandpur, Bhola, Patuakhali, Boroguna, Barisal, Jhalokathi, Pirojpur, Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira and all other coastal districts not to leave their designated posts in order to help in the expected aftermath of the storm.
Several helplines have also been set up to provide information and help during the storm.
