Lekhok Bhattarcharya, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League at the annual conference of Rajshahi Metropolitan Unit of Chhatra League has said, only the leaders with clean images who are inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu and will play a vital role in strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be given the responsibility of Rajshahi Metropolitan Unit of Chhatra League.
Lekhok Bhattacharya declared this while speaking as the chief guest at the conference held at Rajshahi College premises on Wednesday.
Earlier, in the morning President of Chhatra League Al Nahiyan Khan Joy inaugurated the annual conference of Rajshahi Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League where Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and President of Rajshahi Metropolitan unit of Awami League AHM Khairuzzaman Liton attended as the chief guest. Presided over by Rajshahi Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League Rocky Kumar Ghose and conducted by General Secretary Mahmud Hasan Rajib, the conference was attended by General Secretary of Rajshahi AL Doublew Kumar Ghose.
Among others, the conference was attended by former Vice-President of Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League Dr Anika Fariha Zaman Orna, Mass Education Secretary Abdullahil Bari, former President of Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League Shafiquzzaman Shafique, former General Secretary Mir Touhidur Rahman Kitu, President of Rajshahi district unit of Chhatra League Habib Khan, President of RU unit of BCL Golam Kibria, General Secretary Merajul Islam Meraj, President and the General Secretary of RUET BCL Naim Rahman Nibir and Chowdhury Mahfuzur Rahman Topu respectively.
At least five leaders were aspirants for the post of President and nine leaders for the post of General Secretary of Rajshahi Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League. Of the aspirants of the President post the names of incumbent BCL Vice-President Piapur Islam Pappu, President of Rajshahi College unit of Chhatra League Nur Mohammad Siam, BCL Office Secretary Fazley Rabbi, Joint Secretary Abdullah Al Deep and for the post of General Secertary names of incumbent Information and Research Secretary AKM Saffat Hossain Riad, Organising Secretary Sirajun Mubin Sobuj, Mainu lslam Bappi, Arefin Parvez Kanak and Mehedi Hasin Rimel are worth mentioning.
It is learnt, a 161-member Rajshahi Metropolitan unit of Chhatra League committee headed by Rocky Kumar Ghose as President and Mahmud Hasan Rajib as General Secretary was formed through the conference on September-10, 2014. Today's conference was held six-year after the last conference.
