Gulibur Rahman Sharif, a member of Ishwardi upazila committee of ruling Awami League and son of late MP of Pabna-4 constituency Shamsur Rahman Sharif, distributed relief among more than four hundred people at villages of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna on Thursday.
Local AL leaders said that on the occasion of the holy night of Shab-e-Barat asking salvation for the soul of Shamsur Rahman Sharif, MP, at the initiative of his son Galibur Rahman Sharif the food items were distributed among people who have become unemployed due to corona virus spread in the upazila.
Among the food items there were 3-kg rice, 1 kg potatoes, half kg pulses, half a liter of edible oil, spices and a soap.
Upazila Awami League member and Pakshi UP chairman Enamul Haque Biswas, Muladuli UP chairman Selim Malitha and other AL leaders were present with Ghalibur Rahman Sharif at the time.
Ghalibur Rahman Sharif said, “My father Shamsur Rahman Sharif was a beloved leader of Ishwardi-Atgharia area. Currently, corona virus is widespread throughout the country. In the condition low-income people, day laborers have become unemployed. So, we are helping them to survive this crisis”.
At this time he urged the relief seekers to pray for the forgiveness of his father's soul. He also urged the rich people to come forward with their help.
