On one hand we hear about landlords who being afraid of coronavirus asking healthcare providers living in their buildings to evacuate. On the other hand, a landlord set up an unique example of kindness.
He is Md Shofikul Islam, a resident of Boatghat Road area of Bhatara in Dhaka. He distributed food and Iftar items among his tenants marking the holy month of Ramzan on Friday.
He delivered 5 kg rice, 2 kg potatoes, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg soya bean oil, 1 kg onions, 1 kg lentils, 1 kg puffed rice, 1 kg flattened rice, chickpeas and dates himself to the families living as tenant in his building.
The landlord said, in this situation, most people have become unemployed, so their income has stopped. He said he is trying to help his tenants a little. He said almost 300 families live in his building and he will hopefully help them all.
