Real owners have recovered some 36 acres of their grabbed land from the possession of illegal occupants from Chaprar Beel area under Daldalia union of Ulipur of Kurigram district after 38-year of legal battle on last Wednesday.
According to sources, Dur Mahmud and Safer Mahmud of the union were forcibly occupying some 35.31 acres of land under Chaprar Beel area. The owners of the land tried to free the land from their occupation through local arbitration but failed to get any solution. As a result, the land owners filed a case against the illegal land occupants on October-22, 2012.

After 38-year of legal battle, the High Court pronounced the verdict of the land in favour of the real land owners on November-3 this year. Later, on Wednesday, the owners of the land took possession of the land.
Land owner Amjad Hossain (70) is disabled and her has been leading an inhuman life by making a shanty on other's land at Thutapaikor area of the same union. Like Amjad, his other relatives inlcuding Adul Majid, Abdul Mannan and Abdul Hannan were also spending miserable lives without getting the possession of their land.
Victim Tafir Uddin in this connection informed, they are poor, illiterate persons and taking the opportunity of their simplicity, vested quarters of the area grabbed their paternal land illegally. He further said, they are 96 sharers and a case was filed in 2012 claiming the possession of their land.
The learned court, however, pronounced the verdict in their favour and they took the possession of the land recently. He sought cooperation from all concerned so that the land grabbers are not dared to harass them anymore.
