Kyushu Univ delegation explores collaboration with DU

A delegation comprising 11 esteemed members from Kyushu University (KU), Japan, led by KU's Senior Vice-President, Prof. Akira Harata, convened with Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal yesterday evening at the latter's residence office within the university premises. Among the distinguished members were KU Vice-President Prof. Shuji Shimizu, Prof. Tomohiko Akahoshi, Prof. Kazuo Asahiro, and Prof. Saha Bidyut Baran.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions regarding potential avenues for collaborative research initiatives and academic programs between Dhaka University and Kyushu University. Emphasizing the importance of fostering academic exchanges, they deliberated on the exchange of faculty, researchers, and students between the two esteemed institutions.

The delegates expressed their mutual interest in organizing joint seminars and workshops aimed at bolstering collaboration and sharing knowledge across various disciplines. Provost of DU Amar Ekushey Hall, Prof. Dr. Ishtiaque M. Syed, graced the occasion with his presence, further enriching the dialogue on academic cooperation.

Expressing gratitude for the visit and the commitment shown towards strengthening academic ties, DU VC Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal extended his heartfelt appreciation to the KU delegation. The discussions held during the meeting signify a significant step towards fostering international collaboration and enriching the academic landscape of both universities.

The meeting concluded with both parties affirming their commitment to further explore and materialize opportunities for joint research endeavors, academic exchanges, and collaborative initiatives, thereby solidifying the bond between Dhaka University and Kyushu University
