Dhaka University Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman urged the children to know Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman perfectly to prepare themselves as worthy citizen.
The new generation must be equipped with the knowledge of Bangabandhu’s charisma. They must follow the ideals of Bangabandhu to become a good human being. Bangabandhu had always maintained punctuality and done everything accurately on time. He had attended classes regularly and finished homework carefully and properly, the VC pointed out.
The VC called upon the parents to play an effective and proper role to engage their children with creative activities. He said, these types of activities including painting and cultural ones would help children gather knowledge about Father of the Nation.
VC Akhtaruzzaman made the comments while addressing ing the prize giving ceremony of children art competition held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU) on Saturday, marking the 99th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman distributed prizes and certificates among the winners.
The Institute of Fine Arts of DU organised this event.
Dean of DU’s Fine Arts Institute Professor Nisar Hossain presided over the programme while Convener of the organising committee of the art competition Professor Sheikh Afzal Hossain also addressed it.
Acting Registrar Md Enamuzzaman conducted the function. The competition was held in observance of the 99th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu at TSC where many children participated in three separate groups and thirty participants have won prizes.
