Nazmul Hasan Papon has taken oath as a member of the cabinet of the 12th parliament. His personal assistant Alamgir Hossain. He took oath at Ganabhaban on Thursday (January 10) evening.

It is known that Syed Ashraful Islam, Minister of Public Administration of the current government died on January 3, 2019. After independence, the people of Kishoreganj knew the news that there was no minister in the district. But that cost has been reduced in the 12th parliament.

Awami League leaders and activists and common people say that Kishoreganj is known as the second stronghold of Awami League after Gopalganj. Starting from the Acting President of the Mujibnagar government, every government had someone from Kishoreganj as a minister-state minister. In the twelfth parliament, Kishoreganj regained its lost heritage.

On January 12, 1972, in the new cabinet of the Bangabandhu government, he took over as the Minister of Industry, Syed Nazrul Islam, one of the four national leaders. Since then the door of ministry has never been closed for Kishoreganj.

Manoranjan Dhar became the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs after winning the first National Parliament election with the boat symbol in Kishoreganj-2 seat. From 1973-1975, Asaduzzaman Khan was the MP from Kishoreganj-1 constituency. In 1979, Member of Parliament for Kishoreganj-1 Abu Ahmad Fazlul Karim became the State Minister for Health during the BNP regime. In 1986, Mujibul Haque became the deputy land minister during the Ershad government. He was a Member of Parliament of Jatiya Party from Kishoreganj-3 Constituency. Another leader of the district, Habibul Islam Bhuiyan, was the law minister at that time. Mohammad Saiduzzaman was the finance minister of this district from 1984-1987.

When BNP came to power in 1991, ABM Zahidul Haque, BNP Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj Constituency, became Deputy Minister of Shipping. Awami League came to power in 1996. Then late Zillur Rahman, Member of Parliament of Kishoreganj-6 Constituency, was made Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Syed Ashraf got the Ministry of Private Aviation and Tourism.

BNP came to power again in 2001. At that time Osman Farooq, Member of Parliament of Kishoreganj-3 Constituency, became the Education Minister.

Awami League came back to power in 2008. Then Syed Ashraf got the responsibility of the General Secretary of Awami League as well as the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Jatiya Party MP Mujibul Haque has been made the State Minister for Labor and Employment in Kishoreganj-3, a partner of the grand alliance.

When Awami League came to power for the second time in 2014, Syed Ashraf retained the post of Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives. Finally, he was given the Ministry of Public Administration.

Late President Zillur Rahman's son Nazmul Hasan Papon won the 12th parliamentary election last Sunday with huge votes.

With this, he has been elected as a Member of Parliament for four consecutive times.

After this, the discussion started across the district.

The demand of Kishoreganj residents was to get back the lost tradition. After all the speculation, Nazmul Hasan Papon got the call. He is going to be a minister.

General Secretary of Bhairab Town Awami League Atiq Ahmed Sourav said that the entire district including Bhairab is very happy.

Very happy news. Grateful to the Prime Minister. Under the leadership of Papon Bhai, Kishoreganj will move forward in the development of the entire district.

AM Obaid, representative of civil society and president of the Coordinating Social Welfare Organization, said that although it is sad, there was no minister in Kishoreganj for 5 years after the 2018 elections, which is a rare occurrence after 1972.

Following the demands of the residents of Kishoreganj, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the responsibility of the ministry to the president's son Nazmul Hasan Papon, ending five years of misery of the residents of Kishoreganj. Greetings from Kishoreganj to the Prime Minister. Also request that at least one more state minister should be from Kishoreganj.

District Awami League President Zillur Rahman said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has kept the standards of our Kishoreganj. We got a minister again. I am thankful to the Prime Minister”.
