Khelaghar Daba Shangha emerged as the undefeated champions in the first division chess league, securing the title with 19 points from 11 games. In the final round on Saturday, Khelaghar Daba Shangha drew 2-2 with Shafi Uddin Shah Smriti Sangsad. The victorious team comprised Iftekhar Alam, Mahindrakar Indrajit (India), Aminul Islam, Shrayan Mazumder (India), Azmain Parvez Sayor, and captain Saiful Islam.
Deepali Memorial Chess Club finished as runners-up, while General Insurance Corporation Sporting Club claimed third place after a tiebreaker, both teams earning 15 points. The Deepali Memorial Chess Club team included Sajib Das, Mohammad Shakeel, Hrishin Talukder, Kazi Saif, captain Mohammad Shaker Ullah, and Shahinoor Haque. The General Insurance Corporation team featured Niloy Debnath, Candidate Master and captain Abu Hanif, Feroz Ahmed, Candidate Master Shariatullah, Nasir Uddin, and Mahila Fide Master Noshin Anjum.
E-Soft Arena Chess Club secured fourth place with 13 points, followed by Buriganga Chess Club in fifth with 11 points, and Sultana Kamal Smriti Pathagarh in sixth. Sports Bangla finished seventh with 10 points, Agrani Bank PLC Chess Team eighth, Dhaka Chess Club ninth with eight points, Shafi Uddin Shah Smriti Sangsad tenth with seven points, and Shaheen Chess Club eleventh. Bassir Memorial Chess Club ended in twelfth place with six points.
As champions, Khelaghar Daba Shangha, along with runners-up Deepali Memorial Chess Club, will advance to the Premier Division Chess League. Conversely, Shaheen Chess Club and Bassir Memorial Chess Club, the two lowest-ranked teams, have been relegated to the second division.
A total of 12 teams participated in the first division chess league, which followed a round-robin format. International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman scored three points in seven games. In the Grand Masters Chess events in Budapest, Hungary, Fide Master Manon Reza Nid scored three points in seven games in Grand Masters Chess B, while Fide Master Tahsin Tazwar Zia also scored three points in seven games in Grand Masters Chess C. Female Fide Master Wadifa Ahmed scored three points in seven games in International Masters Chess A, and Female Candidate Master Waliza Ahmed scored four points in seven games in the U-2250 event.
