Kazipara and Mirpur-11 stations on the Uttara-Agargaon route of Metrorail have been opened on Wednesday. As the sixth and seventh stations, the two stations have been opened to public.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director MAN Siddiqueinformed the media about the launch of the two new stations on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Uttara Dakkhin and Sheoraparastations will be opened to passengers by the end of this month. Metrorail authorities said that the remaining two stations from Uttara to Agargaon will also be operational within this month (March). And preparations are being made to run the Metrorail from morning to midnight in July.
Fare from Uttara Uttar station to Mirpur-11 station is Tk 30 and uptoKazipara station fare is Tk 40. On the other hand, the fare from Agargaon to Kazipara station is Tk 20 and uptoMirpur-11 station fare is Tk 30.
Earlier, Uttara, Agargaon, Pallabi, Uttara Centre and Mirpur-10 stations were opened from Uttara. And with Kazipara and Mirpur-11 stations, the activities of the sixth and seventh stations of the metro rail began. Up to Agargaon, the two remaining stations are Uttara Dakshin and Sheorapara.
On December 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Uttara (Diabari) to Agargaon section within the 21 km overhead railway line of Metrorail Line-6 from Uttara to Kamalapur. From the next day, the commercial operation of metro rail started with passengers.
The authorities plan to open the Agargaon to Motijheel section by the end of this year. The section from Motijheel to Kamalapur railway station may be operational by 2025.
