Kate Winslet to lead Hulu series ‘The Spot’

Hollywood star Kate Winslet is set to lead the upcoming web series "The Spot," a new drama created by Ed Solomon and produced by A24 for Hulu. The series is also backed by 20th Television.

The story centers around a successful surgeon and her schoolteacher husband who begin to suspect that the surgeon may be involved in a child’s hit-and-run death. As they search for the truth, they become tangled in a web of doubts and dark secrets, testing their relationship and trust in one another.

Ed Solomon, known for his work on popular films like "Men in Black" and the "Bill & Ted" series, will serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for "The Spot." Kate Winslet will not only star in the series but also serve as an executive producer under her Juggle Productions banner.

Winslet has been highly active in TV in recent years. She recently starred in the HBO limited series “The Regime.” She also played a leading role in “Mare of Easttown,” an HBO series for which she won an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series. Winslet previously won an Emmy in 2011 for her role in “Mildred Pierce.”

Additionally, Winslet is set to return to HBO for another limited series titled “Trust,” which is currently in development. Known for her impressive film career, Winslet has earned seven Oscar nominations, including for films like “Titanic,” “Iris,” and “Little Children.” She won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2009 for her role in “The Reader.”

Solomon recently co-created the Max limited series “Full Circle” with Steven Soderbergh, and the duo has previously collaborated on projects like “No Sudden Move” and “Mosaic.” Solomon is represented by CAA.
