Kaspersky: Local threats haunt businesses in Bangladesh

Published : 13 Jun 2024 08:05 PM

In 2023 Bangladesh witnessed nearly 3 million local threats targeting local organizations, according to the latest data from global cybersecurity company, Kaspersky.

Business solutions from Kaspersky blocked a total of 2,900,000 local infections during the period of January to December last year. Statistics on local infections of user computers are an important indicator of the overall cyberthreat landscape.

They include objects that penetrated the target computer through infecting files or removable media, or initially made their way onto the computer in non-open form.

“Bangladesh has utilised manufacturing to transform its economy and remains to be an important contributor to the global manufacturing industry. To be able to continue these feats, organisations, whether operating on IT or OT systems, should build their cyberdefenses against sophisticated attacks that use the same old techniques and tactics,” comments Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky.
