A month-long Karate training course for the primary and secondary level female students was inaugurated on Jhenaidah Badminton Court premises in Jhenaidah on Thursday.
Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Razia Akter Chowdhury inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
Upazila Youth Development Officer in Jhenaidah Sadar Mizanur Rahman, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) representative Mustafizur Rahman and Setokan Do Jhenaidah director, the initiator of a karate training center, Qazi Ali Ahmed Liku among others were present. A total of 29 female students from different primary and high schools are participating in the training course.
UNO Razia Akter Chowdhury in her inaugural speech as the chief guest said the girls are now getting karate and other games training for their safety and security. This sort of training will help them get safety from any untoward incident and make the society free from some evil deeds. It will also develop their physical and mental health. The UNO urged the male community to extend their hands considering the safety and security of the future women community.
