‘Kanjus’ on stage again after a year

After overcoming the extremes, the stage woke up again.  In the meantime, various leading theater organizations of the country are regularly staging plays during the holidays. After about a year, Lok Natyadal (Banani) is going to stage the country's most popular staged drama 'Kanjus' this time. The drama will be staged at the Mahila Samiti Auditorium, Bailey Road on Friday next (5th February) at 6.30 pm.

The play is based on the famous comedy 'The Miser' by French playwright Moliere, adapted by Tariq Anam Khan and directed by Kamrun Noor Chowdhury.

Abdullah Al Harun, Eugene Gomez, Samsad Begum, Anwar Kaiser, Monica Biswas, Tanzina Rahman, Abu Taher Liton Akash, Basudeb Haldar, Minhazul Huda Deep, Sadekul Islam, Sohail Masud and others have acted in different roles in this play. 

Costume designed by Kamrun Noor Chowdhury, lighting designed by GM Sirajul Hossain, background music by Abhijit Chowdhury, Nur Tajmin Nir, Pinaki Ranjan Sarkar, stage management by Abdul Awal Khan / Sohel Masud. 

The central character of the play is 'Kanjus' and then Haider Ali.  He is over sixty years old.  He has one son and a daughter -- Kazim Ali Khan and Laili Begum. Badiuzzaman alias Badi Miah met his daughter Laily on a sea voyage.  Going to pay the price of love, Badi Mia Khan played the role of a servant of ‘Kanjus’.

Meanwhile, Haider Ali Khan's son Qazim Ali Khan fell in love with Morzina Begum of the next door.  When Morzina's love affair with Qasim peaked, Haider Ali's eyes fell on Morzina.  Haider Ali's marriage talks with Laily continued through Golapjan Ghatak.  Qazim was annoyed at the behaviour of his father.  Then the story of the play goes through various events.
