Md Kamruzzaman Khan, crime chief of Bhorer Kagoj, and Sirajul Islam, crime chief of Jugantor, have been elected president and general secretary of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) respectively.
Voting was started from Monday morning to 4:30 pm. Chief Election Commissioner Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul announced the results in the evening after the polling.
In the election, Shaheen Abdul Bari was elected as Vice-President, Dipan Dewan was elected as Joint Secretary, Horolal Roy Sagar was elected as treasurer, Shahidul Islam Razi was elected as organising secretary, Kamal Hossain Talukder was elected as office secretary, Nihal Hasnain became publicity and publication secretary.
Rakibul Islam Manik was elected unopposed for the post of sports and cultural secretary, Wasim Siddiqui was elected for the post of welfare secretary, Ismail Hussain Imu was elected unopposed for the post of training and information technology secretary, and Shaheen Alam was elected for the post of international affairs secretary.
Four journalists contested for three posts of executive members. Off them, Ali Azam became the first, Mohammad Abu Daud Khan, second and Sheikh Kalimullah became third.
