Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevent Society (KAMPS), a voluntary and not for profit organisation brought out a rally on Thursday, marking the World Kidney Day-2024.
The World Kidney Day was observed in Bangladesh as well as elsewhere in the world with the slogan 'Kidney Health for All: Ensuring Equal Rights for Better Treatment", said a press release.
KAMPS has brought out the rally in front of its head office, Mohammadpur in the capital as well as at its branch offices in Chandpur, Madaripur, Nawabganj, Tangail simultaneously to observe the day.
Chairman of KAMPS and chief consultant of Kidney Department of Anwar Khan Modern Hospital Prof Dr MA Samad led the rally while KAMPS general Secretary, Prof. Dr. Harisul Haque, Executive Director, Rezwan Salehin, senior officials and people from different strata of the society participated in the rally.
“Diabetes, High Blood Pressure both may cause kidney problem and all these are silent killers but these diseases could be prevented through raising awareness among people very effectively”, said Prof. Samad.
Prof. Samad stressed that firstly it needs for formulating policy to widespread coverage of massive awareness raising programme across the country mainly targeting to prevent the kidney disease and then ensuring equal rights for better treatment and ensuring access to the treatment facilities for all the kidney failure patients irrespective of rich and poor.
