The police arrested two people along with the dealer while selling urea fertilizer of government BADC in the black market in Narottampur Union of Kabirhat Upazila of Noakhali. Meanwhile, 2 thousand 250 kg of fertilizer was seized from a pickup. Out of which there are 40 bags of urea and 4 bags of GF fertilizer.
They were arrested from Maulana Bazar in Norottampur Union around 9 pm on Saturday. The arrested are Delwar Hossain Milan (45), son of deceased Khurshid Alam and Surrey dealer of Phalahari village of Narottampur Union, and Giyas Uddin (19), a pickup driver of Narottampur village.
It is known that dealer Milon of Narottampur union extracts fertilizer and sells it outside. 2 thousand 250 kg of fertilizer allocated in his name was smuggled from the warehouse of Karambox Bazar of Narottampur Union to Pak Munsirhat Bazar of Kadirpur Union of Begumganj in the dark of night and arrested by local people at Maulana Bazar for illegal sale. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and arrested the dealer and the driver of the car along with the fertilizer.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kabirhat Police Station. Rafiqul Islam said, based on the news of the locals, two people have been arrested with a pickup full of fertilizer. Later legal action will be taken after looking into the matter.
