Jute mills workers demand wage in arrear, rationing

A several hundred workers of jute mills on Wednesday formed a human chain in front of Jhenaidah Press Club demanding returning of their job, payment of salary ad provide rations for them. 

The mills workers were organized by Bangladesh trade union sangha (BTUS), an organization working for the wellbeing of the workers and deprived poor people had expressed their demands with banners, festoons and placards.

Bangladesh Trade Union Sangha’s Jhenidah district unit president Abdus Salam Shah, general secretary Manabendra Das Mintu, Bangladesh 

Krishak Sangram Samity Jhenidah district unit general secretary Imran Hossain Faruque among others spoke from the human chain.

They said government should take immediate steps to arrange payment of the workers and return ther job. They also demanded introduce ration for food supply among the poor and needy workers for their survival when the whole country is caught by the global havoc corona virus.
