Several hundred students and teachers of Government MM College, guardians and local people under Dhamoirhat of Naogaon formed a human chain in front of Dhamoirhat upazila Complex on Saturday (21 Nov.) morning demanding proper justice for the murder of meritorious student Tania Akhter Meem at the Islamia Clinic and Digital Diagnostic Centre at Patnitola on November-18.
Presided over by Raju Islam, the human chain programme was addressed, among others, by President of Upazila Jubo league Jabid Hasan Mridu, former UP Chairman Ayub Hossain, Tania Akhter's mother Shampa Akhter, General Secretary of Upazila Press club Mehedi Hasan, cousin Sadia Sultana, Journalist Harun Al Rashid, President of Upazila Chhatra League Abu Sufian Hossain, President of the College Chhatra League Masud Rana Faruk and student leader Mahbub Alam Raj.
It is learnt, police recovered the stripped dead body of Tania Akhter Meem, a working Nurse of Islamic Clinic and Digital Diagnostic Centre of Nazipur under Patnitola upazila from the clinic on November-18. Family members of deceased claimed Meem was raped and then killed but the owner of the clinic was trying to divert the incident by claiming the incident as a case of suicide.
