Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) will not be declared closed now, said the university's vice chancellor Professor Dr Md Anwar Hossain.
The Vice-Chancellor said that classes will be conducted in a mixed manner i.e. offline and online at the same time. Campus will not be closed right now even if corona infection increases. However, when asked if a particular department would be able to take classes entirely online, he said that the situation has not come up yet. In this situation, there is no opportunity to take classes entirely online.
Regarding vaccination, JUST Vice-Chancellor said that only those who have completed 2 doses of vaccine will be able to do physical classes according to the hygiene rules. However, all teachers have to physically come to the classroom and take classes. He added that the leave of all doctors at the university would be canceled in preparation for the additional corona infection.
Incidentally, the corona positive detection rate at the genome center of JUST is higher than the national average. Which reveals that the corona has been over-infected locally and already Jashore has been listed as a high risk district.
Earlier, on January 5, Jahangirnagar University decided to close physical classes. After that, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology announced the closure of physical classes from January 15.
