JUST’s Rayhan won the gold in 100m sprint

Jahir Rayhan, a student of Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) became the champion in boys' 100m sprint in Inter-University Athletics Competition 2023. He is a third year student of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) department of JUST. Besides, 2nd and 3rd place was won by Md. Ekramul Islam and Md. Ariful Islam respectively. Both of them are students of National University.

The competition officially started with the 100m sprint event after the opening ceremony at JUST Central Playground On Wednesday (May 17) at 12:30 PM. Jahir Rayhan of JUST won the gold medal in the boys 100m sprint with a timing of 10.99 seconds.

 Ekramul Islam of NU bagged the silver clocking 11.11 seconds and Ariful Islam secured bronze with a timing of 11.52 seconds.

Gold medalist Jahir Rayhan said, 'It feels good to be playing an inter-university event in my own university for the first time. Alhamdulillah I won the gold medal in the first event 100m sprint. I have played international events, Olympics, World Championships and Asian Games before. In the future, let our juniors bring better reputation for the university and the country.'

Note, Inter-University Athletics Competition 2023 has started at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) from Wednesday. About two hundred players from 15 universities of the country participated in this competition.
