A team of researchers from Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has developed a 'cyber green method to detect corona virus at low cost. This method will cost only Tk 140 to detect each corona infection sample and that also within 90 minutes.
At a press conference in the conference room on Monday afternoon, the university's vice chancellor and director of the Genome Center, Professor. Md. Anwar Hossain announced this new invention.
In a written statement, he added that the new type of contagion in neighboring India has created a kind of apprehension among us. The whole genome sequencing of this variant and the sequencing of the spike protein have already been completed and submitted to the GSID database.
In addition, spike protein sequences of about 100 virus-causing viruses were transmitted to the region in March and April. South African variants have the highest number of highly contagious viruses. He said that in order to be safe, one has to take the vaccine that is being given at present and also follow the hygiene rules. Especially the mask should be worn as masks are able to give us 95 percent protection.
Also present at the press conference was the Assistant Director of the Genome Center, Professor. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Associate Professor of Microbiology. Selina Akhter, chairman of the Department of Nutrition and Food Technology. Shirin Nigar, chairman of the Department of Bio-Medical Engineering. Hasan Md. Al-Imran, Assistant Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Shovan Lal Sarkar, Researcher Tanay Chakraborty and others.
