Chattogram District Public Prosecutor (PP) Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury on Tuesday demanded Judicial investigation to identify those who plotted the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975.
Lawyers, working in Chattogram district judge's court on Tuesday observed the 1st day of the mourning month of Bangabandhu's 78th martyrdom anniversary, by placing flowers on the portrait of the father of the nation erected in the district judge's court premises.
District PP Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury presided over the discussion meeting, District Additional Law Officers, Advocate Shamsuddin Siddiqui Tipu, Md. Mohsin, Tapan Kumar Das, Mahatab Uddin Chowdhury, Azaharul Haque, Nurjahan Islam, Mohammadun Nabi Shimul, Didar Alam, Saifullah Nayan, Advocate Mosle Uddin, Zahedul Islam, Al Faisal Chowdhury Zahid, Imran Uddin, Vivekananda Chowdhury, Bappa Ghosh, Siraj Udddaula, Imtiaz Sohail, Jamal Uddin spoke.
In the presiding speech, District PP Advocate Sheikh Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury said, the murderers have been hanged on the gallows due to the evolution of time that they had done by killing Bangabandhu.
History shows that even if illegitimate tyranny and murderers are temporarily exhilarated, their downfall is inevitable. Even though the witnesses of Bangabandhu murder or brutal murder on 15th August have been tried, the villain behind it has not been found yet.
It is the need of the hour to find the convicted criminals who planned and plotted the murders and bring them to justice by forming a high profile judicial inquiry committee, he added.
At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for the salvation of the souls of the martyrs.
