Senior journalist and Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) member Shahidul Islam has passed away. He was 65.
He breathed his last at 2:00 am on Thursday at a hospital in Jashore. He had been staying at his village home in Jhenaidah district over the several years due to physical illness.
Shahidul, also a leader of Central Chhatra Sangram Parishad at Dhaka University in the 1980s, worked at different national dailies in the country.
He last worked as a special correspondent and chief reporter at the Daily New Nation.
