Journalism guides society: CCC mayor

Chattogram City Corporation Mayor and brave freedom fighter M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, Journalist are conscious citizens of the country.  Conscious journalism guides society.  You write against the thieves of the society, you write against the bank robbers.  Wherever injustice is seen in the society, your presence is noticeable.  People of the whole country are looking at you.  So you always have to act with caution.  By doing this it is possible to destroy all conspiracies, financial power, muscle power.   City Mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said these words in the speech of the chief guest at the bi-annual conference held at Bangabandhu Hall of Chattogram Press Club on Thursday.  The biennial conference was presided over by Press Club President Alhaj Ali Abbas.

 Press Club General Secretary Farid Uddin Chowdhury delivered the welcome address moderated by Press Club Joint Secretary Nazrul Islam.

 Press Club President Alhaj Ali Abbas said, Chattogram Press Club is an organization supporting the Liberation War.  The Hon'ble Prime Minister inaugurated the mural of the Father of the Nation in this club.  I am grateful for the cooperation of all the officers of the Management Committee during my tenure as President during the last two terms.  At the same time, I tried to fulfill the responsibility assigned to me properly. CCC Mayor M Rezaul Karim Chowdhury unveiled the anniversary of Chattogram Press Club in the event. 

Chattogram Journalist Union President Tapan Chakraborty, Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union Vice President Shahid Ul Alam, Chattogram Press Club Senior Vice President Salahuddin Md Reza, Vice President SM Ibrahim, Finance Secretary Rashed Mahmud, Cultural Secretary Nasir Uddin Haider, Sports Secretary, Debashish Barua Debu, Library Secretary Mintu Chowdhury, Social Service and Entertainment Secretary Md. Ayub Ali, Publicity and Publication Secretary Aliur Rahman, Executive Members Shahidullah Shahriar, Moazzemul Haque, Debdulal Bhowmik, Manjur Quader Manju, Mohsin Chowdhury were present.
