The Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University, Prof Dr Sadeka Halim stressed the value of teacher evaluations at the 2023 Student Counseling and Scholarship Distribution Ceremony.

The vice-chancellor highlighted that a teacher's effectiveness is determined by their students' experiences and stressed the significance of students imbibing positive qualities from their educators.

Prof. Halim spoke to the audience about the difference between secularism and impiety, saying that secularism is the acceptance of all religions while maintaining one's own beliefs. She underlined how important it is to practice one's own religion with respect for other faiths.

Prof. Halim said that she would prefer to be reborn as a Bengali woman if given the opportunity, demonstrating her deep affinity for Bengali culture. Regardless of her religious views, she mentioned her preference for donning a bindi and wearing a saree to highlight her inherent connection to her Bengali identity.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including JnU Treasurer Prof Dr Md Humayun Kabir Chowdhury and Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Dr Md Abul Hossen.
