Jagannath University (JnU) students held a protest march on Thursday, against mob justice, extrajudicial killings, and anarchy on campus. The protest, organized by the General Students' Forum of JnU, expressed deep concern over the growing incidents of mob justice in educational institutions.

During the protest, a student highlighted the alarming situation, stating, "We are seeing mob justice in various institutions. Recently, two people were beaten to death at Jahangirnagar University and Dhaka University. This is unacceptable, and we must speak up."

Ivan Tahseeb, a mass communication and journalism student, emphasized that extrajudicial killings should not be tolerated. He urged the university administration to take action in such situations, with students willing to assist if needed. "If anyone does something wrong, the administration should handle it. We must stand against mob justice."

Another student, Yasin Piash, warned of the potential for further unrest if mob justice continues. He recalled past incidents involving violence and called for justice and proper governance. "If mob justice continues, there will be chaos like in the past. We don’t want to return to a time when violence ruled campuses."

The protest followed the tragic deaths of Shamim Ahmed, a former organizing secretary of Jahangirnagar University's Chhatra League unit, and Tofazzal, a youth detained at Dhaka University’s Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall. Both were beaten to death on Wednesday, raising alarm among students and prompting them to take action against such

practices.

Students from various departments joined the protest, demanding an end to mob justice and better governance within educational institutions.
