JnU inter-department debate competition ends

The final round of inter-department debate competition organised by Jagannath University (JnU) Debating Society ended recently. The final of the competition was held through online Zoom apps on November 2.  

Islamic Studies Debating Club (ISDC) became the champion at the 15th inter-department debate competition, while the debate team of Public Administration department become the runner-up.

The debaters of the champion team are Sohel Rana, Munia Akhter Juthi and Musarrat Tasmia Rahim of the Islamic Studies department of Jagannath University. 

The inter-department debate competition began on October 30 this year. A total of 34 teams from 22 departments of the university participated in the competition.  

Vice Chancellor of Jagannath University Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman spoke at the concluding session as the chief guest.  Moderator of Islamic Studies Debating Club (ISDC) and associate professor of the department Dr Md Nazrul Islam and ISDC president Kamal Hossain expressed happiness over the achievement.  They congratulated the debaters of the department. 

Chairman of Islamic Studies department Prof Dr Mohammad Nurul Amin also congratulated the debaters. He said that the students’ achievement is laudable.
