Jagannath University(JnU) is staying in the GST Admission System for the session of 2022-23, the JnU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque confirmed on Sunday.
Earlier on Saturday, The President Mohammad Abdul Hamid gave the responsibility of organising the GST admission test like previous years along with Jagannath University and Islamic University to the University Grants Commission (UGC) through a notice by the order of the President.
The JnU VC said in his statement that as they are bound to obey the President's order they have no scope to quit the GST Admission test system.
So, JnU is in the GST admission test system and a notice will be published very soon regarding that, according to the VC.
Ensuring to keep the second time admission test he said that the unit based committee will continue their work and the other information will be in notice.
The Jagannath University Teachers Association (JnUTA) President Prof. Dr. Md. Ainul Islam said as the Chancellor gave the order, they will discuss that in their general meeting.
Before a discussion in a general meeting they can't say anything and they will inform their decision after their possible post eid vacation meeting, according to the JnUTA General Secretary Prof. Dr. Abul Kalam Md. Lutfar Rahman.
Though JnU decided to implement their own admission system by quitting the GST admission test system, now they have to follow the order from the Chancellor.
