Divisional director of the directorate of health services (DGHS) in Khulna division Dr Rasheda Sultana said that they are going to inaugurate the functioning of Jhenaidah Shishu Hospital on January 10 after 14 years of establishment of the hospital on Jhenidah -Magura highway. She said it during a visit to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
The people of the district and surrounding areas are going to avail the services of the hospital when Dr. Rasheda Sultana, deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath and civil surgeon Dr. Salina Begum have been trying to inaugurate the hospital.
Civil surgeon (CS) Dr. Salina Begum, superintendent of Jheniadah Sadar hospital Dr. Harun Or Rashid, Dr. Jakir Hossain, Dr. Ali Hasan Farid, Dr. Naurin Sultana among others accompanied the DGHS divisional director during the visit.
It may be mentioned the lone first ever children’s hospital in the country in district level, was established in Jhenaidah in 2006 to provide treatment facilities for the regional children which could not be functioning for an unavoidable circumstances in last 14 years. The hospital is showing ray of hope of treating up the children free of cost towards building a healthy nation, DGHS divisional director Dr. Rasheda Sultana said.
