Jhenaidah people benefiting from hassle-free online BRTA services

Although the district level office of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) was blamed for so called bribe and influence of a number of brokers where the common people rushing for motor vehicles and driving license work, fallen victim, the scenario was almost changed when most of the activities are run on online process. It has been saving the time and money both of the service receivers. 

Now the service receivers can receive the service within a few hours or scheduled time. The service will be improved when they office could apply 100 percent of the work online as against present 80 percent, said the responsible officials of the office.

A number of persons rushed at Jhenaidah BRTA office for new license of their transport vehicles, renewal of the same or driving license said now they are receiving the required service standing in serial which was a burden to them as the people managing some of the office staffs or brokers were getting faster services. But now the so called system was almost over. Each and every one has to stand in queue and receive the service on the spot. All the government offices should render this sort of service presently rendered by Jhenaidah BRTA, they said.

Assistant director (AD) of BRTA Jhenaidah circle Atiar Rahman when contacted said as 80 percent of the service is furnished through online, they have been providing comparatively better services to the people. It will be more effective when they could provide the service 100 percent online.

The BRTA official said they arrange 10 interview boards for issuing driving license where about 200 persons sit for every interview. They publish the results next day so that the successful candidates can receive their license faster. The hassle-free activities have been saving their time and money. BRTA has been playing a significant role in collecting government revenue that helping strengthen economic base of the government, BRTA AD said.
