72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was observed in Jhenaidah. Jhenaidah district administration organized the programme at Old DC Court premises on Wednesday morning.
As a part of the programme, Deputy Commissioner Mozibor Rahman placed a floral wreath at the temporary portrait of Sheikh Kamal on behalf of the state. Later the district police, freedom fighters and other organizations had placed the wreaths to show respect to the young generation leader brutally killed by the politically motivated miscreants on August 15 along with the family members.
Juba Unnayan Adhidapter, the department of youth development had distributed saplings among the people. A number of saplings were also transplanted there.
DC Mozibor Rahman delivered speech as chief guest in virtual programme where police super Muntasirul Islam and Jhenaidah municipality Mayor, also the general secretary of Bangladesh Awami league Jhenaidah district unit Saidul Karim Mintu spoke among others. A Dowa and milad mahfil was arranged for the salvation of Sheikh Kamal maintaining health guidelines.
