Jhenaidah municipal dwellers to get free oxygen service

The people living in Jhenaidah municipality areas will avail oxygen services at their homes free of cost from now on. Two voluntary organizations Navaganga Rakkha Parishad, a platform to protect the river Navaganga and Jhinukdaha Bhasha Parishad initiated the programme. 

Jhenaidah Municipal Mayor and General Secretary of Jhenaidah Awami League Saidul Karim Mintu disclosed the information through a press conference at Jhenaidah press club auditorium on Tuesday. 

The organizers said the people infected with corona virus who do not have capability to purchase the oxygen cylinders, will be provided the service free of cost with the assistance of the Municipal Mayor. The volunteers of Navaganga Rakkha Parishad and Jhinukdaha Bhasha Parishad will ensure the oxygen supply faster with their own vehicles. Service seekers were requested to contact through online or individually. Jhinukdaha Bhasha Parishad president Gaus Gorki, vice president Matiur Rahman, organizing secretary Shipon Joarder, Navaganga Rakkha Parishad chief advisor Masud Ahmed Sanju, joint convener Khanjahan Ali and member Rashedul Islam Parag among others remained present during the press conference.

Municipality mayor Saidul Karim Mintu said huge people suffer for faster oxygen supply that causes delay in treatment. It also throws them in life risk. Moreover, poor people who do not have enough money to afford the gas at an emergency, face trouble during treatment. Considering the reality the two organizations have came up with the noble initiatives to save the lives of the ailing people.
