Three day agriculture fair was inaugurated in Jhenaidah under greater Kushtia and Jashore region agriculture development project on Monday morning. Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila agriculture office organized the programme. A rally had paraded the town marking the inaugural day of the fair.
A discussion meeting was held at local upazila parishad auditorium with Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadiya Jarin in the chair. Upazila Parishad chairman Abdur Rashid Advocate attended the inaugural session as chief guest.
Assistant Commissioner (land) Sharmin Akter Sumi, Upazila Agriculture Officer Jahedul Karim, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Neuton Bayeen and additional agricultural officer Abdullah Al Noman attended as special guests. Agriculture extension officer Junayeed Habib conducted the inaugural event. T he rally and discussion was followed by cutting a cake by the guests.
The organizers said a total of 10 stalls were accommodated in the fair which will continue till Wednesday. The organizers will distribute prizes among the best stalls to recognize them.
