Jaya Ahsan's new film 'Alatchakra' is based on the autobiographical novel of Ahmed Sofa, one of the best writers of country, in the same name produced by Rahima Begum, and directed by Habibur Rahman will be released on March 19. Ahmed Reza Rubel to play the lead role opposite Jaya.
This is a government-funded project based on the Liberation War and first 3D film to be released in Bangla language.
Regarding the release of the movie, Habibur Rahman said, "On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation War, the film 'Alatchakra' will be released. Various campaigns including posters are already going on through social media. Facebook profile stickers have also been made."
The film is about the unspoken love between the refugee Bangladeshi writer Daniel who is staying in Kolkata and cancer patient Tayeba were reflected in the visions of different groups during the liberation war. Jaya Ahsan will be seen in the role of Tayeba, and Ahmed Reza Rubel will play the role of Daniel. The film also casts Azad Abul Kalam and Mahtab Hossain, among others.
The novel ‘Alatchakra’ was published in 1985. The film started its shooting in 2019 and was completed in that year. On December 15 last year, it got clearance from the Censor Board and its teaser has made it one of the awaited films of 2021.
Mazharul Raju is the cinematographer and Ripon Nath is the audio engineer of the film. Habibur Rahman is made this full-length film with Tk 60 lakh. He said the whole shooting took place in 3D cameras with one of the technical assistance from an Indian company.
Regarding the film Jaya said, "The film narrates a beautiful story and hopefully the audiences will experience it in the halls, they will surely be able to relate to it, as this film depicts our history.”
