Popular actress Jaya Ahsan has once again signed a contract for a new film on a story of famous litterateur Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay in Kolkata. The film has been named ‘Chalchitra’ and will be directed by Kolkata-based producer Chitra Vanu Basu.
The announcement of the film was made in the inauguration ceremony of a new OTT platform of India named Hippix at a five star hotel in Kolkata on January 30.
Jaya Ahsan, Rituparna Sengupta and Chitra Vanu Basu and many others were present at the function. According to Indian media TV Nine Bangla, Sabyasachi Chakraborty will play an important role along with Jaya in the film.
The story is about a rural girl who loves to eat, and eats whatever she gets. When she doesn't get anything to eat, she steals. At a stage the villagers get frustrated, annoyed and angry on the girl and decide to expel her from the village, and the story goes on. Jaya will perform in the role of the village girl. The movie will be released on the new OTT platform 'Hippix'.
Meanwhile, Jaya has signed on for another film in Kolkata. Its name is 'OCD'. The film will be directed by Saukarya Ghoshal. Indian media claim that Jaya Ahsan is also the producer of the film. This will the first film produced by Jaya Ahsan in Kolkata.
