Dhallywood four times National award winner actress Jaya Ahsan has been working successfully in Kolkata for several years, gained popularity and also won many awards in West Bengal.
Recently another achievement of receiving award was added to the list of the actress in the neighbouring country. She has been awarded as the best actress for the film titled ‘Binisutoy’.
On Monday February 14, the actress herself announced the news on her verified Facebook page by posting a picture.
The award ceremony titled ‘Cinemar Somabarton’ arranged by West Bengal Film Journalist Association (WBFJA) was held last Friday at Kolkata. It is learnt that the award ceremony was held on Sunday (February 13). Tollywood Superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee handed over the award to Jaya at the glittering event.
Sharing some photos of the ceremony Jaya Ahsan said, “Honoured and overwhelmed to receive the Best Actress award at prestigious#WBFJA Cinemar Somabarton for #Binisutoy”. “Sincere thanks to the Jury for honouring me with this prestigious award and thanks to Atanu da and the whole team of Binisutoy for trusting me and my audience for all the love” she added.
Jaya Ahsan will be seen coupled with actor Ritwick Chakraborty in the film ‘Binisutoy’ directed by Atanu Ghosh. Chandrayee Ghosh, Samontak Dyuti Maitra was also casted in the film.
Jaya Ahsan also received India's most popular Filmfare Award. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for 'Bishorjan' alongside Abir Chatterjee and Kaushik Ganguly directed by Kaushik Ganguly himself in 2017 and ‘Bijoya’ and 'Robibaar' in 2021.
Jaya started acting in Indian Bangla film titled ‘Aborto’, directed by Arindam Sil in 2013. She was nominated for the Filmfare Awards East for Best Debut Performance Female for her role in the film and also received an official invitation to attend the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
