Jaya Ahsan’s ‘Bhootpori’ selected for Int’l Film Fest of India

Jaya Ahsan's film ‘Bhootpori’ has been selected to screen at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will take place from November 20 to 28 in Goa. This year, Jaya will return to IFFI, where she represented five films from three different film industries last year. ‘Bhootpori’ is part of the Feature Film segment in the Indian Panorama section, along with two other Bengali films: ‘Amar Boss’ and ‘Aankh Ki Kothin.’

Directed by Saukorja Ghosal, ‘Bhootpori’ tells the story of a woman who died in 1947. Her restless spirit meets a young boy in the present day, and together they seek to uncover the truth behind her death, discovering that it was not an accident but a murder. In the film, Jaya plays the role of the ghostly figure Bhootpori. The cast includes Ritwick Chakraborty, Sudipta Chakraborty, Shantilal Mukherjee, and Bishantak Mukherjee. The film premiered in West Bengal on February 9 of this year.

Jaya Ahsan has several upcoming films set for release, raising excitement among her fans. These include ‘Jaya Aar Sharmin’ and West Bengal’s ‘Kalantar,’ ‘Putulnacher Itikatha,’ and ‘OCD.’ She is also stepping into the world of web series with her first role in the upcoming series ‘Jimmi,’ directed by Ashfaque Nipun. In ‘Jimmi,’ Jaya plays a junior government employee who finds a hidden box of cash in her office, leading her into a series of unexpected challenges. Production for this new series is set to begin soon.
