Jaya Ahsan popular actress, producer of both Bengal expresses her anger by protesting about journalist harassment in the country and hundreds of children dying in Palestine. Many celebrities have protested against the Israeli attack on Gaza from home and abroad. Now Jaya has been added to the list.
On Wednesday (May 19) morning, Jaya revealed the ongoing unrest inside her. Her eyes are wet with the bloodshed of Palestine.
In her words, 'I see pictures of Palestine in the newspapers, on the television screens. I see and think I am going down to the abyss of hell. Broken houses, fire everywhere, corpses lined up, children crying. But they were smiling, eating a little while ago; the baby was caressing the mother. I read in the newspaper that more than 200 Palestinians have been killed in a brutal Israeli attack in the past week. More than one-fourth of it is children.’
Describing the helplessness of the children, Jaya added, 'Those who are alive are covered in blood. Not to save one's own life. They are removing the rubble and bringing out the trapped children. Those young children were drowning under the horror of light and airlessness!’
Jaya Ahsan has strongly protested not only on the Palestinian issue, but also about the harassment of journalists in the country. Referring to the ongoing issue of harassment, lawsuits and imprisonment of Rozina Islam, Jaya said Tuesday (May 18), “Rozina went to work as a journalist, not to cut corners. I saw her falling to the ground as a victim of harassment. This is our behavior! This is our civilization!”
