Popular Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan’s debut Bollywood film “Kadak Singh” was released on OTT platform Zee5 on Friday. Noted Indian actor Pankaj Tripathi has played lead role in the Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury- directed movie and Jaya Ahsan has appeared as his girlfriend named Naina in the project.
The Dhallywood actor is getting huge positive response from the audience for her strikingly beautiful performance in the film. Some of the leading media in India, including Hindustan Times, Times of India, Indian Express, India TV and news 18 have also praised the actor’s maiden Bollywood work.
The Hindustan Times review termed “Kadak Singh” as a true and realistic thriller. The news paper also praised Jaya Ahsan’s acting. It said that Tripathi’s girlfriend Bangladeshi actor Jaya Ahsan is such a revelation and a delight to watch. At no point she looks smitten or swayed, instead, she brings the much needed balance in the narrative. When Naina (Jaya Ahsan) begins her story and the story moves into a flashback, for the initial few minutes, all we hear is soulful music, no words and it’s only through their gestures, expressions and actions that the film wants us to understand how deeply they bonded. Shantanu Moitra’s music serves as an icing on the cake. Tripathi and Jaya’s intimate scene has also been portrayed very well.
News 18’s review said that despite some flaws, this is a good film to watch. The story keeps the audience in the web of mystery throughout the first half. But in the second half, the weight of the story is reduced a lot.
About Jaya, News 18 said that Jaya Ahsan’s delightful cameo adds to the storyline, particularly in heartwarming scenes with Sakshi. Jaya’s Bollywood debut has to be talked about. The scene of her waiting in the hospital lobby, not being allowed to enter the patient’s room, captures the audience’s heart.
