The ASTRA Awards 2024 nominations, revealed on Thursday, encompassed a global selection of films, featuring notable titles such as "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," "Killer of the Flower Moon," "John Wick," and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," alongside other box office hits. Notably, "Jawan" earned its nomination in the Best International Feature category, representing India alongside films like "Anatomy of a Fall" (France), "Concrete Utopia" (South Korea), "Fallen Leaves" (Finland), "Perfect Days" (Japan), "Radical" (Mexico), "Society of the Snow" (Spain), "The Taste of Things" (France), "The Teacher’s Lounge" (Germany), and "The Zone of Interest" (United Kingdom).
Leading the pack in nominations were "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer," with Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" securing an impressive 15 nods and Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" receiving 14 nominations. Taylor Swift's ground-breaking documentary, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," which set a record as the top-grossing concert film of all time, is a contender in the Best Documentary Feature category.
Bradley Cooper's "Maestro," a film based on the life of American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, garnered seven nominations, including Best Actor and Best Director for Cooper, along with a Best Actress nomination for Carey Mulligan.
The highly anticipated awards ceremony is set to take place on February 26, 2024, in Los Angeles, where the winners across various categories will be unveiled.
