Nagarbaul James, known for his patriotic song "Bangladesh," has responded to recent rumors about his music. The song, created by Prince Mahmud and sung by James, is famous for mentioning key figures in Bangladesh's history, including both Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former President Ziaur Rahman.
Recently, rumors spread on social media claiming that James had stopped performing the song in the past eight years due to its political content. Some suggested that he was not allowed to sing it during the Awami League government because of Ziaur Rahman's mention in the lyrics.
James has now cleared up these rumors. He says he never made any such statement and is surprised by the misinformation. His manager, Robin Thakur, added that James is a professional artist who focuses on connecting with his audience through music, not politics.
Robin explained that the absence of the song from some concerts over the years was not due to politics but because each concert has different themes and audience preferences. Just like they don't play every song at every concert, "Bangladesh" was not always included, but it had nothing to do with political issues.
Robin also mentioned that they often hear the song played at rallies and events, sometimes with missing parts. He said it is upsetting to see the song changed but emphasized that James wants to perform the complete version.
Going forward, James will include "Bangladesh" in every concert. Robin urged people to look beyond political divides and embrace a new perspective, focusing on unity and the true spirit of the song.
