A tree plantation drive with the motto “Brikkho lagai bhuri bhuri, topto bayu shitol kori (Let’s plant a lot of trees, cool down the searing air)” was inaugurated in Chuadanga on Sunday with the initiative of Jamaat-e-Islami Chuadanga District unit.
Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Chuadanga District unit Ameer Ruhul Amin inaugurated the drive as the chief guest by planting fruit and forest tree saplings at Al-Helal Secondary School in Chuadanga district town at 7:00 am on Sunday arranged by the Municipality Jamaat-e-Islam.
Chuadanga District Jamaat Assistant Secretary Advocate Masud Parvez Rasel, District Jamaat Working Council Member Advocate Moslem Uddin and Municpality Jamaat Ameer Advocate Hasibul Islam were present as guests at that time. Municipality Jamaat Secretary Mahbub Ashik and Imran Hossain, Municipality Training Secretary Iqbal Hossain and Anwar Hossain, Ward no. 1 president Habibur Rahman, Ward no. 2 president Nuruzzaman, Ward no. 3 president Anwar Hossain, Ward no. 4 president Sadik, Ward no. 5 president Minhaj Uddin, Ward no. 6 president Muhidul Islam, Ward no. 8 president Rakib and Ward no. 9 president Sharif Hassan were present at that time as well.
During that time, chief guest District Ameer Ruhul Amin said there is no alternative to tree plantation to preserve the balance of the nature. As a part of this, we are making people aware in every area and encouraging them to plant trees in their house yards and next to their houses, as well as in empty lands and fallow lands. Along with that, we are distributing tree saplings among journalists, students, administration, institutions and our associates.
The organizers said 50,000 tree saplings of different varieties will be distributed in the district with the initiative of Jamaat-e-Islam Chuadanga district unit. As a part of that, Municipality Jamaat distributed 300 tree saplings of different varieties
