Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has donated Taka 12 lakh to the family members of six martyrs-who were shot dead by police in Dhaka during the anti-discrimination student movement, at a function at Netrakona Press Club here on Monday.
The six martyrs are-Suhag Mia,15, son of Shafayeth Mia of village Borkhapon under Kalmakanda upazila, Ahadun Mia,18, son of Mojibur Rahman of village Shampur under Kalmakanda upazila, Jakir Hussain,24, son of late Fazlu Mia of village Bakaljura under Durgapur upazila, Saiful Islam,32, son of late Sikandar Ali of village Baroikandi under same upazila, Ramzan Ali,25, son of Liton Mia of village Nondipur under Netrakona sader and Nazimuddin,17, son of Rustam Ali of Bhatgaon under Barhatta upazila of the district.
On the occasion of distribution of money to the martyrs ‘families, Jamaat-e-Islami Netrakona district unit organized a view-exchanging meeting with the families of the martyrs.
Former district Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Netrakona district Professor Moulana Enamul Haque addressed the meeting as chief guest while Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Netrakona district unit Professor Moulana Sadek Ahmed Haris was in the chair.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by general secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Netrakona district unit Professor Moulana Mahbubur Rahman and member secretary of Netrakona Press Club Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory Halim.
