The Islamic University (IU) 'Economics Club' in Kushtia organized a workshop on Mental Health at Gogon Horkora Gallery at the Rabindra-Nazrul academic building of the campus on Monday around 10:00am.
Professor Dr Debashish Sharma, chairman of the club presided over the program. IU Vice Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam spoke at the programme as the chief guest while Pro-vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Mahbubur Rahman, treasurer Prof M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya attended the programme as a special guest.
Assistant Professor Mithila Tanzil of Economic department conducted the programme while Professor Dr Kazi Mostafi Arif, Chairman of the department delivered the welcome speech. Sayema Hafiz Sumi, Motivational trainer and founder of Proshanti, Razia Sultana, Psychologist and Pcycosocial Counselor, M Shariful Islam, Psychotherapist and Konok kanti Barman Joy, IT Supporter were present as a mental health trainer.
IU VC Professor Dr Salam said in his speech "Health is a fundamental right of human beings. Nowadays, the crucial of mental health awareness is very important. So, we should be aware of creating knowledge, motivation and attitude. We have to remain with well wisher not to with bad company."
